My Life Experience

 Assalamualaikum w .b. t. everyone.

Everyone must have their own experience in living life as a human being on earth, right? The experiences faced have made us more cautious or over-prepared to face a future full of challenges to mature us. Including with me.

Work experience

In 2019, I applied for a job at a fast food restaurant, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) at the Masjid Tanah branch, Melaka after sitting for the SPTM examination. I applied to work in a restaurant because it is close to my house, which is located 9.5 kilometers from my house located in Kampung Ayer Limau. I started working in early 2019 and I was placed in a permanent staff position in the food management area at the center (backup).

The scope of work I do is burger making, food timing, chicken rice making and others that involve food preparation except fried chicken. Through the scope of work given by the employer has made me more disciplined as food care needs to be scrutinized more efficiently before being served to customers. This is because customer safety is paramount in a job as a fast food maker.

Before starting work, I was sent to a large KFC branch in Gajah Berang, Melaka to be trained as a food handler by a special trainee provided by QSR Sdn. Bhd. In that specialty, I was taught to prepare food cleanly. In addition, employee dress code is also taught because food safety needs to be taken care of with clean dress. I also sat for a test to qualify for a certificate to work at the restaurant. The specialization given has made me more efficient in food management.

The challenge he went through while working at the restaurant was working during the Covid-19 pandemic. During the pandemic, all Malaysians were not allowed to go out but for the food manufacturing industry they were allowed to operate until 8pm. This made it difficult for me to move to work because I needed company permission documents to get to work. Also, adherence to the job SOPs I have to adhere to has been a challenge to me as it is not comfortable for me to do the job. This is because the area I work in is a hot area that makes it difficult for me to breathe if wearing a covered face mask.

My working time was for four months. I asked to quit my job because I wanted to continue studying at the International Islamic University of Malaysia because I had received a request to report to the university. After being called to university, I sent a resignation letter to the employer even though the employer was reluctant to fire me but I was also offered as a restaurant manager after I finished my studies and got a degree.

Education

In primary school, I went to school at Sekolah Kebangsaan Ayer Limau. This school is located in Kampung Ayer Limau near my house. I went to school for six years and was able to finish elementary school at that school. I also managed to pass the UPSR exam with a result of 4A 1B. This decision has qualified me to enter high school.

In high school, I went to school at SKK SMK Ghafar Baba located in the town of Masjid Tanah. I went to school for five years and managed to finish school at that school. At the lower secondary level I have participated in the TIMSS examination organized by the Ministry of Education Malaysia. I managed to get the certificate of participation in the exam. During form three, I sat for the Form Three Interpretation Examination (PT3) which is compulsory for all form three students in Malaysia. I managed to get 6A 4E in the exam and qualified me to continue my studies at the secondary level. Meanwhile, at the secondary level I still went to school at SKK SMK Ghabar Baba in the field of art and technology. I managed to get 5A 2B 1D in the SPM examination and qualified me to get a school leaving certificate as a use to apply for a job.

At the STPM level, I went to school at SMK Sultan Alauddin which is located near SKK SMK Ghafar Baba in Masjid Tanah. I went to school for a year and a half to get STPM approval. I take the field at the STPM level is conversational Malay Literature. I managed to find a pointer of 3.25 in the STPM examination which was enough to qualify me to apply for university. Apart from that, I also sat for the MUET exam during the STPM promotion and I got Band 3 in the exam.
